Fourth River Associates is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a city built at the confluence of three rivers. There is a fountain at the point where the three rivers meet. The water source for this spectacular display comes from an underground 'fourth river' that provides a never-ending source of water. The principals of Fourth River Associates chose their name from Pittsburgh's underground river because it represents the unseen resilience in each of us.
